NYSC Uniform Not a Shield Against Arrest, Prosecution- Coordinator Tells Corps Members

The Bayelsa State Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity has warned corps members against involvement in illicit drug trade and drug abuse, saying the NYSC uniform is not a guarantee against arrest and prosecution.

‎Mrs. Okpalifo, who was  represented by the Camp Director, Sir  Anumaka Raymond Kennedy  during the 2025 BATCH B, STREAM 2  participants rally against Drug Abuse at the permanent Orientation camp in Kaima, Bayelsa State urged corps members to shun all forms of drug abuse and drug related crimes.

‎He said, as future leaders, drug abuse can ruin their opportunities to render quality leadership to the nation.

‎He decried the rate of insane youths roam the streets as a result of drug related illnesses,warning that being a corps members  does not give them immunity against arrest by NDLEA if caught abusing drags or dealing in illicit drug trade.

‎Earlier, the Head of NDLEA, ASN  Donald Enyiekere, thanked the Management for the attention given to the lecture and rally. He opined that with the involvement of the NYSC, the war against drug abuse in Nigeria will be a success.
