There was jubilation recently in Unenurhie community, Evwreni Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, as Comrade Friday Diamond, aka “Ogbo”, reconciled with his political father, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, aka the “Urhukpe I” of Urhobo land.
The jubilation was well pronounced amongst the youths of the community during the reconciliation meeting held at the Olorogun’s residence in Evwreni town.
Addressing Unenurhie community leaders and the teeming youths that attended the event, Olorogun Emerhor, a founding leader of the APC in Delta State, said: “In leadership and politics, there are times when grievances, political differences, sentiments and misunderstanding may occur. But I’m happy today that my son, Friday Diamond, has fully come back to his own house.
“Friday is my own son and I love him so much. And I strongly believe that he made this move at the right time. This is because the 2027 general elections are around the corner. This is when I need him most to work for the victory of President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and other candidates of the party.
“In fact, all of you that accompanied Friday to this place show that he’s your leader and you all love him. I’m indeed grateful to our supreme leader in Unenurhie community, Mr Peter Maison, and all the youth leaders that are present here today.”
Comrade Friday Diamond vowed never to have political differences with Olorogun Emerhor again.
He said, “I was misled all this while without knowing. Now I have realised my mistakes of following bad leaders. Today, I’m the happiest person in this house as I have fully reconciled with my father. I therefore vow to never have political differences with my father again. My eyes are now opened. I will continue to follow his steps, and no political or traditional group in Unenurhie community will ever run down or blackmail my father again. Daddy, I remain your loyal son.”
In his remarks, the former President-General of Unenurhie community, who led the delegation, Mr Peter Maison, thanked Olorogun Emerhor for being a father and for being very supportive of Unenurhie community.
He told the youths that Olorogun Emerhor is a true and bonafide son of Unenurhie community. Mr Maison also appealed to them to always support the APC at all times, especially in the 2027 general elections.
The reconciliation meeting was, however, concluded with the presentation of kola nuts, drinks and financial offers by Olorogun Emerhor to all the guests.
