Late Chief Oserada Buried with Fanfare at Uwheru

The remains of late Chief Benjamin Omonigho Oserada were laid to rest on Saturday 25th June, 2022 at his residence in Urede Quarters, Uwheru town in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State with fanfare.

The funeral service, which was conducted according to the tenets and beliefs of the God’s Grace Ministry Inc by the Uwheru District head of the church, Rev. Evang. David Eruomagbuesu, and other ministers and members, saw members of the family, community members and many sympathizers in attendance.

In a sermon during the open air service held before the interment, Rev. Evang. Eruomagbuesu admonished the congregation to leave behind lasting and memorable legacies that they would be remembered for in the church and the community.

The man of God, who took his message from the Bible book of Revelations, chapter 7: 9-17, described the deceased as a man that had the fear of God in handling church affairs, even as a secretary of the church till his demise.

Rev. Evang. Eruomagbuesu enjoined the children of the late Chief Oserada to emulate the kind of life lived by their father while on earth, which was centred on humility, prudence, generosity and kindness. He also told the children and members of the family to hold firm in the service of God and humanity as did their late father by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

According to the biography presented by his children, the late Chief Benjamin Omonigho Oserada was born on February 16th, 1932 into the family of Obowhene in Urede Quarters, Uwheru town in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.

He attended the then CMS Primary School, Uwheru where he obtained his Primary School Leaving Certificate, and thereafter proceeded to the popular Eko Boys High School in Lagos where he obtained his WASCE. After his secondary school as the practice then, he was employed by the Federal Government as an Immigration officer.

He worked briefly in the establishment and went further to obtain a diploma in Education. This qualified him to be a professional teacher.

He taught in different schools in the then Bendel State and ended as a vice principal in Asah Secondary School.

The late Chief Benjamin Omonigho Oserada also served as a leader, holding various positions in Urede Quarters in particular and Uwheru kingdom in general. He was married to Mrs. Christiana Oserada and blessed with many children.

In tribute to his late father, Mr. Wisdom Ejomafuvwe Oserada, an officer with the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) described his father as a man of protocol and dignity.

Hear him: “My father, late Chief Ben Oserada was a man of protocol and dignity. He always gave us good advice about life. He was very caring, accommodating to every person that came his way. He left behind for us fine legacies that we can’t easily forget in our lives.

“With the kind of life our father lived, we believe God will prepare a place for him in His bossom to rest in peace till the judgment day. How I wish my father could have stayed much longer here on this planet Earth to enjoy more of the fruits of his labour. Well, God knows the best.”

The late Chief Benjamin Omonigho Oserada was survived by nine children, 25 grand children, a wife and many family members. He was aged 89 years.
