Don Waddel Entertainment Partners Nollywood On Youth Development

A budding entertainment group in Port Harcourt, Don Waddel Entertainment has stated its resolve to fight youth unemployment and youth-related crimes through discovering new talents and nurturing them to become global stars.

Chairman/CEO of Don Waddel Entertainment, Chief (Engr) Waddel E. Torru, told newsmen last Monday in Port Harcourt that to achieve this, the entertainment group is already partnering with Nigeria’s film industry, through the newly established Nollywood comedy club, which also has the objective of grooming up and coming comedians, actors and musicians.
Chief Torru said “Don Waddel Entertainment was established solely to give raw talents, that is the youths, a chance to do something for themselves at my expense.
“We have signed about five artistes to our record label and they are doing very well. We are trying to shoot their films. We will be going to the United States of America soon with two of them where they want to shoot their musical video.
“I feel that if this is the little I have to give to the society, then I should do so,” Chief Torru said.
He described the synergy between Don Waddel Entertainment and Nollywood Comedy Club as borne out of the fact that the two groups are toeing the same line.
“We want to give the youths the opportunity to excel. So, Don Waddel Entertainment will join Comedy Club in helping and sponsoring the youths to get to their heights,” he said.
Chief Torru lamented that life in Nigeria as it is today is difficult, adding that if there is any avenue for a person or group to come together to assist the youths to exhibit their talents and progress in life, then such opportunity should be utilized.
He applauded the progress made by Nollywood over the years, especially in the quality of films and distribution of same all over the world, expressing belief that the activities of the Nollywood Comedy Club and Don Waddel Entertainment would help boost the entertainment scene in Rivers State.
