The Africa Blue Economy Roundtable (ABER), a flagship project of BRACED Tourism Promotion & Development Initiative, has announced the appointment of Queen Mother Nina Womack as Regional Coordinator for Africa’s 6th Region – African Diaspora.
Queen Mother Nina is a Los Angeles native, a global community leader, entrepreneur, cultural bridge-builder, and tourism advocate. She is traditionally enstooled as a Development Queenmother in Ghana and holds the honorary chieftaincy title of Ugo Nwanyi in Nigeria.
With over three decades in media, cultural programming, and community engagement, she is Founder of Transmedia 360, One World Food Hub, and Let’s Be Whole, and serves as USA Country Chair for Global Trade and International Development with G100.
Her work connects culture, heritage foods, agro-tourism, international trade, and sustainable development across Africa and the Diaspora.
In her new voluntary role, Queen Mother Nina will mobilize ABER’s Diaspora membership globally, link Diaspora capital, skills and markets to Africa’s blue economy sectors, advance cultural tourism, storytelling, and heritage experiences, build partnerships to drive blue finance and sustainable development and champion women and youth leadership through the ABER Women’s Forum and Youth Desk
Speaking on the appointment, Dr. Piriye Kiyaramo, Convener/Executive Director of ABER, said: “Queen Mother Nina’s vision to create pathways for people of African descent to experience the continent through culture, investment, heritage and shared opportunity is central to building a Bluer Africa. We are honored to have her lead our 6th Region.”
As a voluntary, individual membership continental digital networking platform, ABER works to advance an inclusive, prosperous, resilient and sovereign African Blue Economy in line with AU Agenda 2063 and the AU 2050 AIM Strategy.
