Evwreni kingdom was recently relieved of hunger and hardship as the duo of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, and Chief Engr. Samuel Adjogbe, two All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Delta State again showed their benevolence and charity as they supported their communities with over ten million naira to cushion the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in the country and the total lockdown order by both the federal and the Delta state governments.

Speaking to our correspondent at Evwreni town where the money was shared among the four major communities of Unenurhie, Uneni, Okpawha and Urevwe, the coordinators of the social support programme, Mr. Marcus Uba and Mr. Fedelix Adjogbe said the money was meant to support the vulnerable and indigent in the various communities. They, on behalf of the two APC leaders, told the various community leaders to share the money not according to party affiliations but strictly on vulnerability to avoid complaints from residents.

In his appreciations, the president general of Evwreni kingdom, Mr. Bright Adjogbe, said, “Words are not enough to thank our two brothers and also our political leaders over their acts of benevolence and love they continuously show to us in time of need like this very one. This is not the first time they have done this to us. To give support and empowerment to the poor in Evwreni kingdom has been their natural habits right from time. On behalf of the entire Evwreni kingdom, I say a big thank you to them for this singular support to the various communities in the kingdom. Therefore, I promised that the money would be shared among the people without oppression or based on party lines as instructed by our leaders.”

Speaking in the same vein, the president general of Unenurhie community, Mr. Peter Maison, again appreciated the two leaders for the kind gesture towards the residents of his community. “In fact, we are very happy today for God to blessed Evwreni land with these kinds of leaders that can attend to the pains of their people. We are proud to say to the world that these two leaders are maternally from Unenurhie community, even though we are also under Evwreni kingdom. They are Unenurhie children and we will continue to thank them for their kindness and love towards the people. They were not forced to do this. They considered it necessary to support the people in a time like this as leaders and private donors are doing in other places around the country. My prayers for them are that, God should continue to bless them and to also make their political dreams to come to pass without delay in Jesus name!”

In the same way, Mr. Friday Diamond, aka ‘Ogbo,’ Unenurhie community youth chairman who spoke on behalf of Unenurhie youths poured encomium on the two leaders saying, “They are our fathers and role models. We the youths of Evwreni kingdom want to live after them. We must thank them for the good works they are doing to us. We want to use this same opportunity to plead with them as our fathers in politics and business to push some of us who are ready to work into the political line and into entrepreneurship. I think, the best option now to control the high rate of unemployment among our youths is to make them self-employed. It’s important to tame the urge of criminality in them. Once again, I thank our two beloved fathers. May God continue to bless them for us,” the youth leader prayed.

The money was however shared amicably amongst the residents of the various communities as monitored by our correspondent.
