Delta: Unenurhie People Jubilate as Omo-Agege ‘Installs 500kva Transformer’

The people of the ancient Unenurhie community in Evwreni kingdom, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State were recently dancing and singing praises of the deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, for facilitating the installation of a 500kva transformer to replace an obsolete one of a lower power grade in their community. 

Our correspondent reports that on the day the transformer was tested by the officials of BEDC in the community, residents of the community shouted ‘NEPA’ immediately the light was switched on, while pouring praises on the DSP for his prompt reaction to the community’s demand.

The residents also thanked the president-general of the community, Mr. Peter Maison, for the pragmatic and result-oriented leadership he has brought to the community.

Those who spoke to our correspondent said, “We have been in outer darkness before now. It’s now we are rest assured that we will celebrate the Christmas and New Year with light.

“We thank Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege for giving us this transformer. In the same way, we want to thank our able and working president-general, Mr. Peter Maison. He’s really a selfless leader. It’s now we are seeing the dividends of good and productive leadership in Unenurhie community. We are solidly behind him. Our God will always protect and bless him. No weapon fashioned against him by the enemies shall prosper.”

The president-general, Mr. Peter Maison, however thanked the deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege and all those that gave him the support to actualize the dream. Hear him: “I’m indeed overwhelmed over this great achievement in my government in the community. On behalf of my executive body and the entire Unenurhie community, I want to happily thank Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege for this gesture. Indeed, we are happy to be counted among the beneficiaries of this transformer installation in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.

“Again, I want to appeal to our amiable DSP Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to also mobilize the contractor for the street lights installation. We were awarded a transformer and street lights. The contractor has just finished the installation of the transformer now. We are anxiously waiting for the street lights installation,” he said.

Our correspondent however reports that the transformer installation had been completed by the contractor, awaiting formal commissioning by the government.
