Delta 2023: Adjogbe Solicits Support for Omo-Agege, Self

As the deputy president of the Senate and senator representing Delta Central, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege formally declares his intention to run for the governorship of Delta State, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a “popular and accepted” aspirant for Ughelli North Constituency 1 seat in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Fidelis O. Adjogbe, has thrown his support behind the senator’s aspiration.

Mobilizing his constituents, support groups and others to Omo-Agege’s declaration of intention to run for governor, Adjogbe urged them to support the deputy Senate president, as well as his aspiration to represent the Ughelli North Constituency 1 come 2023.

The event which was held on April 14, 2023 at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State brought together APC faithful and members from across the state, national working committee members, national leaders of the party, aspirants and political support groups across the state. 

Hon. Adjogbe who expressed joy seeing the crowd that accompanied him to Omo-Agege’s declaration, thanked Deltans especially those from his constituency for taking the bull by the horn and coming out in their numbers “to be part of the greater change that would produce the new state they have dreamt of since the past twenty years.

“This is already a firm conviction that His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is our next governor of Delta State come 2023. We don’t even need further prophecies on our victory in this political race. We have already won.

“In the same way, I’m also appealing to all of you from our constituency, the very constituency of our next governor, that you should also stand by me because I also sharing the same political ideas and thoughts with our next governor.

“Enough of this political marginalization and oppression from the PDP, this is our time to take over the state to bring out the needed positive changes and dividends of democracy to our people. Once again, I’m begging all of you to protect and to secure our future and that of our children by casting all our votes for APC come 2023 general elections!”

The event however ended with the formal declaration by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege his interest to contest the 2023 Delta state governorship election amidst cheers and applause from the teeming crowds of party leaders, women and youths.

The event was attended by APC national working committee led by the South-South deputy chairman, Hon. Victor Giadom, governors of Kogi and Anambra states, represented by their deputies, the state executive committee led by the state chairman, Hon. Omeni Sobotie, the 25 LGA executive committees of the state, ward and unit executive committees and members of the APC in the state.
