29 Years After, Nkoro Gets First LG Chairman of ‎ONOLGA

29 years after the creation of Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Council in Rivers State, Hon. James James has become the first Nkoro man to occupy the position of the LGA.

‎In a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt, James described his election as the as historic  adding that his emergence was handiwork of God.

‎The new Opobo-Nkoro chairman expressed his determination to change the dynamics of governance in the area through diligent service to the people.

‎”I feel blessed and excited that history has been made in Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area after over 29 years of creation. It is the handiwork of God who has made it possible for me to be the person to serve as the  chairman. I am coming to serve the people, to change the dynamics of governance, not about sharing the wealth of the local government but to give the area a new phase of life, so that when you get to the LGA, you will feel at home, feel the governance and it will be a destination heaven for all,” the chairman declared.

‎James assured the people of his commitment to discharge the duties of his office  with equity and good conscience stating that natural justice will always prevail in all his  programmes and policies in the local government area. He therefore called on the residents of the area to put all hands on deck in support of his administration stressing the need for all to see each other as one family.

‎”To make Opobo-Nkoro a destination heaven, there should be no opposition, we are one family”, James stated.

‎Our reporter recalls that Hon. James James is the first Nkoro indigene to be elected  Chairman of Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area since it’s creation in 1996.
