La creme de la creme of the society identified with Sir Chief Dr Eben Emman Ogan and the Ilalamaoku Ogan Ado War Canoe House in the Thanksgiving service for the landmark High Court victory, held at St.Agnes Parish Church, Ogan Ama Deanery in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The church service, which was filled to the brim had dignitaries from all walks of life, who came in their numbers to add colour to the epoch making event.

In his address, vicar of the church, Ven. Precious P. Nyanaboibi called on leaders in the country and beyond to show exemplary life in the discharge of their functions in the society.

Dwelling on his theme, ‘What kind of leaders are you,’ he advised leaders of our generation not to abandon the ways of God, adding that leaders should serve as a source of refuge to their people.

He prayed for the celebrant and the family, and assured them of God’s protection.

Speaking to our reporter at the reception, the celebrant, Chief Dr. Eben Emman Ogan, said the Thanksgiving for High Court victory was to thank the Almighty God who stood by him to achieve success.

He maintained that he will reposition the community to move to a fruitful and higher level, pointing out that the victory is for the good and development of Ogan Ama.

The chief also extended his hands of fellowship to any aggrieved person or persons, noting that as chief and head of Ogan Ado War Canoe House, he will carry everyone along in the scheme of things.

Guests at the event poured encomiums on the chief, saying he is a detribalize person who shows compassion and care to people.

Chief Harrison Amakiri, a prominent Okrika chief described the ever smiling Chief Ogan as an embodiment of progress, who touches lives of people within and outside his domain. He prayed for God’s guidance to direct his affairs in the task ahead.

Important personalities attended the occasion, which showcased traditional music displays and funfair, while the Okrika Divisional Council of Chiefs(ODCC) were present in their numbers to spice up the colourful event.
