Marlon Defeats Woko, Others in Southern Ijaw Election

Hon Moses Marlon has been declared winner of the Southern Ijaw Constituency 3 House of Assembly election conducted on March 18, 2023.

Marlon, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who sought re-election into the Assembly, polled 4,759 votes to beat his closest rival, Barr Woko Timibieri of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who scored 2,817 votes, and Mr Richman Godsgift Taxbugu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who polled 09 votes.

The result was declared by the Returning officer, Dr Joseph Oke Omoro.

Speaking with journalists after the results were declared, an elated Hon Marlon expressed gratitude to God over the victory, as well as to the state governor, Senator Douye Diri, who is leader of the party in the state, and party faithful. He also thanked “the prayer team and the entire Southern Ijaw Constituency 3 for their massive support.”
