The highly elated charter president made this known during the club’s July meeting, held at the Eclat Hotels & Suites, Ovwodokpokpor-Ogor, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

He therefore called on Rotarians, especially those of Rotary Club of Evwreni, to be more committed and dedicated to the activities and programmes of the club at all times.

“My fellow Rotarians, I’m happy to announce to you that the Rotary Club of Evwreni is now recognized as one of the branches of Rotary International in Nigeria. We are now entitled to all the rights and privileges of Rotary Clubs and Rotarians across the world. In addition to this, we have also received our charter certificate as a well recognized branch of Rotary International. Our president is now a charter president. Therefore, I must thank all of you for your efforts and commitment to making this laudable achievement in the shortest possible time. Again, I want to passionately appeal to you that, this same achievement should be a wake up call to all of us to be more committed and dedicated to all our activities here, at the district and international levels. We should try to participate in all our activities,” he said.

Also, speaking during the meeting, a highly respected board member of the club, Rtn. Clementina Ejaboefio, PAG, sued for peace and love amongst members, adding that the same should be displayed to “members of our families, communities and the general society using the four-way test of Rotary at every time of our actions and behaviour.”

In the same vein, Rtn. Peter Maison who is also the president-general of Unenurhie community, thanked the president and other board members of Rotary Club of Evwreni for their vision, focus, prudence and accountability in moving the club to a higher and enviable height.

Hear him, “On behalf of fellow Rotarians present in this meeting, I want to express my warmest appreciation to our amiable president, Rtn. Samuel Adjogbe and other board members of the club for their untiring efforts and commitment to move this our club forward. Our people say that, when you praise a powerful man, he becomes more powerful. This is exactly what we are doing to our president and other board members for this great achievement. Their efforts in building this Rotary Club of Evwreni are speaking volumes, and the results are here for all to see. We have nothing to offer to all of them than to thank them to enable them to do more for the greatness and success of the club. Once again, we are indeed grateful to you.”

After the meeting, which lasted almost two hours, the president of the club, Rtn. Samuel Adjogbe, as usual, treated all members and guests to light refreshment as over four persons joined as new members of the club.
