The president-general of Unenurhie community in Evwreni kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Williams Ilayah, has called on the state Ministry of Health to urgently rehabilitate “the only community health center is in community.”
Mr. Ilayah made the call during a visit to the health center to assess the state of the health center and its usefulness to the residents of Unenurhie community.
He said, “This is the only government health center we have in this our community. But as you can see, the facility is highly dilapidated and is inactive for some time now.
“This has badly affected our people especially little children that really need immediate medical care and quick attention. Most pregnant women in this community can’t assess the health center for proper medical care and safe delivery.
“Workers are not always at work as expected. And many of the equipment are either old or not available for use at all. My message to the Honourable Commissioner for health is for him to come to our aid as early as possible to avert further uncontrollable health challenges,” he said.
The Unenurhie PG further called on the Commissioner for Health to come to the community’s aid by starting rehabilitation services in the health center to keep it active at all times.
