Okonkwo Happy With Return of Fubara as Governor

An elderstatesman, Chief Christopher Okonkwo has expressed happiness over the return of the suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara back to the Brick House.

Speaking in an exclusive interview shortly after his arrival from overseas, Okonkwo remarked that it was not in doubt that the suspension of Governor Fubara was not only embarrassing to the entire Rivers people but an unconstitutional act, saying Fubara did not commit any serious offence that would warrant such a punishment.

“Honestly, Governor Fubara is loved by the good people of Rivers State, following his style of governance that is very transparent, though he was targeted to be impeached before the suspension order come but all the same, I’m happy that he is back and has also promised to swing into action in revisiting some of the abandoned projects with a view to complete them”.

“Regrettably, the Sole Administrator Ete Ibas (Rtd.) that was drafted in place of suspended Governor Fubara did nothing much in terms of transforming the state. Worst still, he refused to honour the invitation of Rivers House of Assembly, calling him to come and give account of his stewardship for the duration of six month he was in office”.
“Believe me, the kind of undemocratic and injustice that was played out in Rivers State in the past six months would be difficult to forget easily in the next 20 years to come”.

Commenting on the rate at which most political leaders were defecting to APC in the recent time, Okonkwo held the view that such politicians must have some hidden agenda to loot the economy of their states.
“It is no longer news that APC has killed this country with its bad leadership style. For me, I better commit suicide than to join APC, having seen that nothing good will come out of the party that was built around some mischieveous elements who were only interested for themselves alone”, Okonkwo thundered.
Ahead of the 2027 General Election, the outspoken Okonkwo said that he has seen plans of some individuals plotting to kill PDP and Labour Party, so that it will be only APC that will exist.
“But it is my prayer that the new appointed INEC Chairman will be sincere and fair in the discharge of his duties, by allowing a level playing field for all the registered political parties to go to the field to test their might and popularity”, the outspoken Okonkwo loudly summed up.
