Rotary Club  of PH Rumuogba Golden Embarks  on Pad-A-Girl Child Campaign ‎

A one day sensitization on Disease Prevention and Treatment Project tagged PAD-A Girl Child Project organised by members of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rumuogba Golden District 9141 Nigeria held in two private schools, Lindengates School Academy and Venocrest Secondary School both in Eneka in Obio/Akpor LGA Rivers State in partnership with two interact clubs to mark the International Day of the Girl Child has been successfully concluded with a charge on female students to always  maintain cleaness at all times.

‎Delivering some brief health talk at the two schools visited, both the Medical Practioner Rotarian Dr. Atiemie Braide-Lolomari and the Assistant Governor Rtn. Antonia Osugba-the chartered President re-emphasised the need for the girls to be abreast on how to go about their health situation especially during their menstruation period.

‎They further reminded the girls that they are important in the society and therefore should work harder if they really want to reach the zenith in whatever career they want to take for living, adding there is no hindrance to their ambition.

‎“Again, we will advise the Girl Child not to allow any stigma to impede them from hitting their potentials, having seen every Girl Child as future leaders if they continue to put in  their best in their eductional pursuit and also be confident in themselves, there is no limit they will not attain in life”.

‎“Afterall, women are born leaders and I pray that all, therefore, should live with such spirit, citing example with the likes of Ngozi Okonji Iwuala, Dora Akinyimi, etc, who were able to attain to great height as a result of hardwork”.

‎“Besides, we are also here to encourage you girls on  how to uphold your personality in the society so that you will not be relegated to the background or be talked down by the boys, instead, you should be proud of your status as a Girl Child”, the respected Rtn. Speakers frankly stated.

‎Earlier in an interview, the President of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rumuogba Golden District 9141, Rtn. Uyi Ikpolo, reiterated that their visit to the two schools was basically to further enlighten the Girl Child that they should be proud to be woman that mensurate which according to her, is a very normal thing in a woman’s life and not a taboo.

‎Rtn. Ikpolo also advised the Girl Child to always keep themselves very clean by washing their hands steadily and equally ensure that their entire body is always kept clean.

‎Hear her: “Health care is very important and personal hygiene is something that everybody should be committed to observe seriously”.

‎The amiable hardworking woman Rotarian boss, however, seized the opportunity to enjoin spirited individuals to see Rotary as a good organisation and join hands in supporting their foundation so as to make the world a better place to live.

‎In seperate responses, both the two principals of the schools, Mr. Okoro Promise and Mrs. J. Olabe could not hold back their joy in thanking the visiting Rotarians for coming to their schools to impact wide knowledge about health mensuration to the girls which we are sure that they must have benefitted a lot from the sensitization.

‎“Indeed, we are delighted to seeing an external body like Rotary Club coming to impact some good health talk on our female students which is very uncommon nowadays”.

‎“Truly, we are happy that our female students were very curious and attentive during the sensistization talk, believing that they must have acquired a lot, different from English and Mathematics they are learning every day”.

‎High point of the visitation to the schools was the sharing of enough sanitary pads to virtually all the Girl Child that were present at the event.
