It was pomp and pageantry at Vee-Hotel situated along Ordinance Road Trans Amadi Port Harcourt on Sunday September 14th, 2025 as members of Rotary club of Port Harcourt Rumuogba Golden District 9141 Nigeria, friends of Rotary and invited guests came out in their numbers to formally install Rotarian Uyi Ikpolo as its 5th President to pilot the affairs of the Club for the next one year.
The well-organized but colourful Installation ceremony attracted eminent personalities from all walks of life, PAGs, the parents of Rotarian Uyi Ikpolo, including the District Governor Rotarian Anthony .O. Wogheren in attendance.
In his valedictory speech, the outgoing President of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rumuogba Golden, Rtn. Uche Uche-Okonkwo said that he is happy having successfully completed his one year tenure.
Rotarian Uche Uche-Okonkwo commended members of the club for the massive support given to him which was all he needed towards the execution of numerous project the club has already lined up while praying that such massive support should also be accorded the new President to enable her excel.
“Interestingly, I can assure you that lots of project which fall in line with the seven areas of focus of Rotary were done under my close watch as President with the support of the club members, believing that such support should equally be extended to Rotarain Uyi Ikpolo whom I have implicit confidence in and also capable of taking the club to greater height”, he said.
Fielding questions from reporters after being decorated with the Presidential Gold medal as the 5th President Rotary Club as Port Harcourt Rumuogba Golden District 9141 Nigeria, Rtn. Uyi Ikpolo said he was so excited that the event recorded huge success and the club was able to raise enough money for the foundation to carry out some life touching project they have already lined up to embark upon for 2025/2026 Rotary year.
The visibly elated Rtn. Uyi Ikpolo further disclosed that she has a vision not only to work for the growth of the club membership but also to ensure that members of the club are strongly united which is in tandem with the theme of the club this year ”United For Good”.
Continuing, Rtn. Uyi Ikpolo described the turnout of people at the event as very unprecedented, thanking all that took time to grace the memorable installation ceremony.
High light of the event was the induction of new Board Directors for the 2025/2026 Rotary year, Presentation of Distinguished Service Award to deserving personalities, raffle draw and cutting of Installation cake by the new club President, Rotarian Uyi Ikpolo.
