The continues delay in the coronation of His Royal Highness Elect of Elele Alimini in Emohua local government area of Rivers state, Eze Peter Wagbara (CP Rtd) as the Paramount Ruler of the community has started eliciting reaction from indigenes and residents of the community.
Recall that Eze Wagbara was elected as the first Paramount Ruler of the Community in July 2023 shortly after his retirement from the Nigerian Police force with the rank of Commissioners of Police (CP). The election that produced him was sequel to the request of the then Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, that all recognized Autonomous Communities without paramount rulers should use the window to fill in the vacant position and forward same for government recognitions.
The emergence of Eze Wagbara as the Paramount Ruler of Elele Alimini it was learnt followed the ratification and adoption of Elele Alimini Constitution.
The delay we gathered was due to a legal incumbrances, however, we further learnt that the court has given express permission with the restoration of all the rites of Eze Wagbara as the Paramount Ruler of the community, hence the call from the people on the organs of the community to initiate the coronation process for Eze Wagbara to fully function as the paramount ruler of the community.
One of the calls came as a way of motion by Mr. Collins Agumagu, former General Secretary of Elele Alimini Community Development Committee (CDC) during a special Elele Alimini General Assembly meeting ( Ogbakor Alimini) held on Saturday 23 of August 2025. His motion received several positive reactions and supports that the motion be given attention for the overall interest and development of the community.
There were other testimonies at the meeting that since the assumption of Eze Wagbara as the Paramount Ruler of Elele Alimini Community, it has saved the community from several pockets of violence, external intimidations and has usual economic growth and development, hence the call on the authorities concern to initiate the coronation process.
