The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Bayelsa Chapter, has congratulated the newly inaugurated Sports Commissioner, Dr. Daniel Igali, describing his re-appointment as well-deserved.
A statement signed by Bayelsa SWAN’s Caretaker Committee chairman, Loveday Herbert and secretary, Promise Okotoko, noted that over the past few years, the fortunes of Bayelsa sports in national and international events have continued to enlarge due to Igali’s stellar performance during Governor Diri’s first term in office.
Bayelsa SWAN said it believes that Bayelsa sports deserves more thus his reappointment to consolidate on the already existing plans to create sports facilities in the state.
The body hailed Governor Douye Diri for his magnanimity in re-appointing Igali to serve yet again in his cabinet.
SWAN, Bayelsa chapter, expressed its readiness to support the Governor Diri administration to promote natural talents in practically every field and the prioritisation of grassroots sports.
It stressed its readiness to work with any progressive idea Daniel Igali will bring to the table, in addition to performing its responsibilities as the watchdog of the sports sector, through constructive engagements.
Bayelsa SWAN also appealed to the new commissioner to carry along the association in his policies of Prosperity as members are looking forward to a more cordial and harmonous working relationship.
