Senate: Joel-Onowakpo Sponsors Bill to Establish ICT Institute at Ode-Itsekiri

Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, who represents the people of Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has sponsored a bill to establish the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral abode of the Itsekiri people of Delta State.

The bill seeks to contribute significantly towards the education and human capacity development of citizens in different fields of Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Robotics, Data Science, Programming, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Networking, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Web Design, among others.

According to a statement from the office of the senator, the importance of the bill in a technology era such as we are in “cannot be overemphasised. Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas shall continue to represent Delta South judiciously and credibly at the Senate.”
