‎Barely a week after his retirement from the civil service, Sir Braveman Wodi, the immediate past Director of Sports, Bayelsa State Sports Council, has unveiled a book titled “Journey of the Brave”.
    ‎
‎”Journey of the Brave”, which chronicles the story of Sir Braveman Wodi’s life is a powerful reminder that circumstances do not define people rather they enable them to forge ahead irrespective of the challenges.
    ‎
‎Speaking at the official book launch and Thanksgiving reception, ‎Chairman of the occasion, Chief Bokomo Orukari the Amanaowei of Sabagriea community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, said he was pleased with the exploits of Sir Braveman as Director, stating that his diligence and commitment to issues are worthy of emulation.
    ‎
‎He noted that the Council of Knights is happy with the indelible marks of his leadership, maintaining that the book, “Journey of the Brave” reflects the saying that nothing is impossible in life and that the author is a perfect definition of grass to grace from athlete to management and retiring as a director.
    ‎
‎In a remark, Chief Launcher of the book, Barr John Sambo, Director Domestic Affairs, Government House represented by the Director General, Centre for Youths Development, Deacon Robert Igali, commended the celebrant for his immense contribution to the development of sports in the state in the last five years, describing him as a goal getter.
    ‎
‎According to him, the book “Journey of the Brave” is a secret to excellence that will be beneficial to young athletes, secondary school students and those in the sports industry to digest and emulate the footprints of the celebrant whose time as Director of Sports was defined by success.
    ‎
‎Also, the book reviewer, Dr. Amatari Mozimo remarked that the secret of Sir Braveman Wodi’s success story and what he did differently as Director of Sports is captured in the book “Journey of the Brave” maintaining that the story of the achievements of the state in the area of sports would be incomplete without mentioning the celebrant.
    ‎
‎The retired Director of Sports, Sir. Braveman Wodi in his remarks, asserted that the essence of the event was to thank the Almighty God for retiring successfully having served meritoriously in the civil service for 35 years.
    ‎
‎He explained that the book is a chronicle of his life and also an insight for those in the sports industry to borrow a leaf from his success story and how to do better, pointing out that he was marveled by the show of love, describing the celebration as incredible.
    ‎
‎Sir Wodi urged the staff of the Sports Council, sports administrators as well as the younger generation to be committed and be diligent in the discharge of their duties and not to put pecuniary gains in place of professionalism.
    ‎
‎He appreciated the staff of the Sports Council, members of his family, the Anglican church, friends, colleagues and members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN for finding time to honour him.
    ‎
‎In their separate goodwill messages, Mr Bibowei Lambert, Head of Department, Programme Research and Statistics and Prof. George Gborienemi, who spoke on behalf of Saint Mark’s Anglican Church, Biogbolo, Yenagoa and his wife (Dr) Mrs Iniye Wodi, noted that the sports sector will miss him that the prayers of everyone is for God to continue to uplift him.
