The  Okpoama Kingdom Council of Chiefs in Brass Local Government Area, under the leadership of High Chief Nathan Egba Dienagha has commended the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri for taking the bold initiative to embark on the construction of the Nembe-Brass Road through the swampy mangrove terrain.

    ‎

‎The commendation was contained in a communique signed by the Chairman, High Chief Nathan Egba-Dienagha and the Secretary, Chief Inenyo Yousuo-Ogbulu, and issued at the end of the Chiefs Council’s second scheduled meeting in 2025 at Okpoama over the weekend.

    ‎

‎The statement described the Nembe-Brass road project as pivotal to opening up new frontiers of development in the coastal area, adding that it takes a courageous and fair-minded leader like Governor Douye Diri to take up such a huge challenge.

    ‎

‎The communique also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the construction of the second phase of the Nembe-Brass Road project by the Federal Government.

    ‎

‎The Chiefs of the ancient Okpoama kingdom however, urged the construction company, All Infrastructure Limited, handling the second phase of the project to expedite the process for a seemless delivery of the Federal Government section of the road, in order to actualize the government’s plan for the area.

    ‎

‎On the renovation and upgrading of the Okpoama Mission Jetty, the Chiefs on behalf of the kingdom expressed appreciation to Governor Douye Diri, noting that the jetty was a safety hazard to the people of Okpoama prior to the state government’s intervention.

    ‎

‎The Chiefs, however, appealed to the good people of Okpoama Kingdom to continue to remain patient and steadfast, adding that all the issues currently plaguing the Kingdom would be resolved soon.
