The Nigerian born singer, songwriter and performing artiste, Ifé, centers her music and sound on African culture, heritage and advocacy for the girl child. She fuses these ideologies into Alternative music, Afro-Soul, Pop and Highlife music.
A graduate of Music and Preforming Arts from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Ifé has released over eleven records, including a body of work titled ‘DarkLight,’ an extended play that has been adjudged by critics as “revolutionary and inspirational.”
She has worked with notable acts in Nigeria and internationally. They include; Umu Obiligbo, Smarty from Burkina Faso, Ahec 3, Unchained XL From New Zealand, DJ Koffi from the United Kingdom and many others.
Ifé is gearing up to release her debut album titled ‘Sunset and Paragraphs.’ Release date to be announced soon. She describes the album as her life “in chapters, words and melodies.
“The album is filled with stories of humanity. Everyone has a song or more telling their stories on the album,” she said.
Zelu, a single off the album, is an Igbo word which means ‘Avoid.’ She’s metaphorically telling people who drive joy in troubling others “to avoid her, that she’s tired of being silent and could make it rain in summer time.”
