Journalism Institute, Yenagoa Centre, Gets New Coordinator

The Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State, led by Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha, has approved the appointment of Dr Ikiemoye Iniamagha as the Interim Coordinator of the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ), Yenagoa Study Centre.

A statement by the secretary of the council, Comrade Imgbi G Stanley noted that, with this appointment, Mr Roland Elekele has been relieved of his appointment as the coordinator of the Study Centre.

Dr Ikiemoye Iniamagha, who is a lecturer of Communication Skills at the Bayelsa Medical University, Yenagoa, is also a broadcast journalist with Radio Nigeria Creek FM, Yenagoa.

The statement also noted that Dr Iniamagha has won a number of awards including Best Newscaster Radio and Best Presenter Radio in the Bayelsa Media Awards.

Dr. Iniamagha holds a Certificate in Mass Communication, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Linguistics and Communication Studies, MA in International Communication and Development and a Doctorate in English and Communication Art.

The statement urged Mr Elekele to hand over all documents in his possession to the Interim Coordinator with immediate effect.
