By Amos Odhe, Yenagoa

The joint leadership of the Second and Third phases of the Presidential Amnesty Program, led by generals Elaye Slaboh and Wanemi Olotu, have appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, to disregard the recent “sponsored protest calling for the sack of the workaholic Interim Administrator, Major General Tariye Barry Ndiomu rtd, for his pragmatic and proactive leadership style,” while calling for the reappointment of the PAP boss.

According to Slaboh and Olotu, Major General Ndiomu has “demonstrated capacity, acumen and dexterity due to the positive and sustainable innovations he has introduced since he assumed office.”

The national chairman  of the Second  phase PAP, general Wanemi Olotu, and national chairman Third phase PAP, general Elaye Slaboh, while  speaking to journalists in Yenagoa against the backdrop of a purported protest outside the Niger Delta region, said that the protesters were not ex -militants, “but were hired and sponsored and induced to stage the protest in order to diminish the rising profile of the IA, Major General Tariye Barry Ndiomu (rtd ),” adding that “these sponsored protesters didn’t mean well for the prevailing sustainable peace and progress been experienced in the region momentarily,” and describing them as enemies of progress and peaceful co- existence in the region.

Slaboh and Olotu said that the innovation and introduction of the cooperative scheme and verification, “which unearthed  a lot fraud which denied genuine ex-agitators their monthly stipends, whereas some persons lived large at the expense of others, have earned the IA a lot admiration and commendations by well-meaning stakeholders in the Niger Delta region,” and therefore called for Ndiomu’s reappointment to enable him “consolidate and sustain the genuine intentions for the ex-agitators in the region who are contributing their quota to the economy of the nation.”

They also called on the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, “to as a matter of urgency arrest and prosecute these disgruntled elements as a deterrent to incessant protests that have become rampart in the region, as the taking of the protest to Abuja has constituted a national disgrace for which all those involved has to be unmasked.

“We don’t want the relative peace prevailing in the region to be thwarted by a few callous and disgruntled elements whose actions are tantamount to scaring investors from the region.

“We third phase can vouch and testify to the qualitative leadership style of Major General Tariye Barry Ndiomu rtd that has endeared him to the leadership of Gen Elaye Slaboh, the Agbere born ex- militant since the assumed the mantle of the third phase ex- agitators barely a month,” they said.
