Gateway International Church, situate at Egbelu/ Ogbogoro, road, off St. John’s junction, has sent a strong warning signal to one Entereo Homes to keep off from its property.
Executive Pastor, Gateway International Church, Pastor Matthew Ogaren, gave the warning while speaking to journalists at a special prayer session by the church on their land, at the Gateway International Church Life Centre, opposite TAF Estate, along Obiri-Ikwerre, Port Harcourt.
Pastor Ogaren said that the Church decided to come to the Centre to pray on the land, and also posses it.
According to him, Gateway International Church would not fold its hands and allow a, certain Mr. Stephen George Amaewhule and Connel Ogwumerum Eke whom. They accused of attempting to grab their property to go ahead with the plan.
His words, ” This land belongs to Gateway International Church and we are here to take it over. You can see the several work going on now, this is to enable us secure our portion from any other people coming into the land to claim ownership”.
” We want to be very clear, Connel Ogwumerum Eke does not have land here, this land belongs to Gateway International Church, and that is why we are here to declare to the whole world”.
” If you patronized any of the cheap Entereo Homes claiming ownership of the land, please go back and take your money. We own this land, we posses the land “, he summed up.
He advised those who indulge in land grabbing to stay off from the church land, even as he enjoined whosoever that is sponsoring land grabbers to also stay off from the church’s property.
Also speaking, Lawyer to Gateway International Church, Barr. Uzoma Azogu, affirmed the authenticity of the land adding that it belongs to Gateway International Church.
Barr. Uzoma said that he was part of those who negotiated the purchase of the land with Omuoakachi and Omuolunwor families, in Mbodo -Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area.
According to Barr Uzoma, the land was bought in phases, phase 1, 2, 3, and 4, pointing out that the first phase was bought in 2008.
He said,” we cleared part of the land and no body disturbed us, even when we were fencing the land, with the approval from former Chairman, Ikwerre LGA, Hon Samuel Nwanosike, no body challenged us, only recently we observed that land grabbers have infiltrated the land, trying to claim ownership.
