As individuals, groups and communities across the state continue to send congratulatory messages to the newly sworn in Delta State governor, Rt. Hon. Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, Unenurhie community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State is not left out.
In a congratulatory message presented on behalf of the community, Unenurhie’s president-general, Mr. Peter Maison, congratulated the new governor, Rt. Hon. Chief Oborevwori om his “well deserved victory at the polls and also successful inauguration ceremony as the new governor of the state.
“On behalf of Unenurhie community, we want to heartily congratulate our new and amiable governor, Rt. Hon. Chief Sheriff Oborevwori for his successful inauguration as the new governor of Delta State. We are proud of him as a grassroot governor and Deltans in general expect much from him in diverse areas of the economy, infrastructure, education, security and the general well being of all Deltans.
“We want to again congratulate him specially because we are part of him and he’s also part of us. The governor is our amiable son in-law. We are proud of this to be recognized as major stakeholders in the governance of the state,” he said.
Maison however called on the new governor to give the community immediate attention as he assumes office over some challenges facing them at the moment.
The community leader pleaded with the governor to listen to their request for the state government to recognize Unenurhie as an independent and autonomous community/kingdom, separate from the present Evwreni kingdom.
The community also called on the new governor to remember PDP members from Unenurhie in Evwreni Ward 08 when he constitutes his executive cabinet and make other political appointments, in order for the people, especially the voters, to enjoy the fruits of their labour during and after the governorship elections in the state and to also bring close to the local populace the government of day as well as his MORE agenda.
