Promotion Motivates Personnel, Increases Productivity ~ AIG Zone 16

The promotion of any personnel in any sector, particularly in a security sector, such as the Nigerian Police, is a motivational factor for the person to do more in their area of responsibility.

This much, the Assistant Inspector General  of AIG, in -charge of zone 16, Mr Friday Eborka, noted when he spoke after decorating an officer from the zone with the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, during a ceremony at the command headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

According to AIG Eborka when they see colleagues getting promoted, others put in their best to be promoted tomorrow.

On the welfare of officers and men of the force, he remarked that the Inspector General Police, IGP Alkali Usman, is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that this is well taken care of at the various state commands and zones.

Congratulating the newly promoted officer, Pereboh Ebi Oweimo, whom he acknowledged as hard working and who for seven years was superintendent of police, SP, before she eventually got elevated to the commissionership cadre. The AIG commended her courage and faith in the midst of various challenges she encountered over the years in the course of carrying out her duties diligently.

He called on citizens to cooperate with the police, especially at this period of elections in ensuring that everything goes on peacefully. The police on its part, he assured will do all within its constitutionally mandated role to see that law and order is maintained and sustained, before, during and after the election.

He also said that the IGP have organized seminars, workshops and trainings for the unit, state and zonal commands designed to ensure they perform their duties well for the benefits of the peace loving people of Nigeria.

On her part, the newly promoted and decorated officer, ACP Pereboh Ebi Oweimo, recalled how it has taken her over fourteen years to be promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police and Assistant Commissioner of Police. She acknowledged the hand work of God in her elevation and assured that she will not relent in putting in her best in discharging any duty she will be assigned.

An elated officer, she thanked her colleagues from the zone and guests from all walks of life who attended her decoration.
