Okifo Foundation Donates Relief Materials to IDP Camps at Evwreni, Others

The Prince Oghenerukevwe Okifo Foundation (POOF), a popular non-governmental organisation in Delta State has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to the three different IDP camps created by the state government at Evwreni and Uwheru towns in Ughelli North Local Government Area, and Ewhu town in Ughelli South Local Government Area as part of her contribution to help ease the pains of those affected by the ravaging flood.  

Making the presentation to the IDP camps, secretary of the foundation, Hon. Desmond Okpako Duke, who represented the founder/CEO, said, “First, as a foundation, we want to sympathize with all of you affected by the flood at this time especially those of you displaced from their various residential houses that are currently taking refuge here in these IDP camps.

“We are really sorry for the pains and suffering you are passing through as a result of this flood disaster. Secondly, we came here to present to you, no matter how small, relief materials to cushion the effects of hardship the flood has placed all of you. Please, there is no time to say many words. Kindly accept these relief materials from us with joy and love.”

Speaking after the presentation of relief materials, the heads of the three IDP camps commended the Prince Oghenerukevwe Okifo Foundation for remembering them at this critical period. 

“What do we have to say on behalf of all the flood victims than to commend you for your love and huge contributions for our well being and welfare. We really appreciate your humanitarian services to mankind. Your good stories are everywhere. This is not the first social programme you have embarked upon. We want to thank the foundation especially the founder for the huge support.

“What you have donated to us will definitely go a long way to help us in this critical period. We promise you that, we will share and manage the different relief materials you presented to us in the spirit of love and togetherness. We pray God to replenish the purse of this foundation with abundant blessings and also ask other foundations and social and corporate organizations in the state to do likewise.”

The items donated to the three IDP camps include bags of rice, cartons of Indomie, tubers of yams, tissue papers, washing and bathing soaps, packs of mosquito coils and many other items.

The POOF team include: Mr. Simon Santos and Ehis, Esiri Uba and the secretary, Hon. Desmond Okpako Duke.
