Bayelsa Media Award Set for 4th Edition in Yenagoa

Plans have been concluded for the 4th edition of one of the most prestigious media awards in Nigeria, the Bayelsa Media Network Award (BMNA).

According to the organizers, the event which is slated for the 26th of December, 2022 will hold at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the Ernest Ikoli press centre along Azikoro road, Ekeki in Yenagoa, the state capital.

This was disclosed by the project manager of BMNA, Blessing Matthew Ozegbe, and his team during a courtesy call on the general manager and management staff of the Royal FM, the majestic blend, at Agudama-Epie to intimate them of preparations for the 4th edition.

According to the project manager, the visit was also used to intimate the station that it has not only been nominated as the best radio station in Bayelsa, “but also to inform him that some of its staff have also been nominated for their credibility, efficiency and outstanding performance of their duties.

“Your nomination didn’t come as accident, but due to  the fact that your station’s quality programs on entertainment, information and education and team work, top notch news quality  presentation, best brains has earned the station the best radio station.”

The general manager of the Majestic Blend, Royal FM, Tudor Ayah commended Bayelsa Media Network Award for the honour bestowed on the station and staff, and described the award an impetus that they would continue to cherish and would spur them to sustain the feat and go places.

“Inspite of our challenges, we feel honoured and humbled to be considered for this award considered to the most credible media award, which is the best of its kinds devoid of politicking, devoid of financial inducements and others.”

He promised that the radio station would continue to provide quality news, entertainment and information channels in the media space to the entire world.

Also speaking, a member of Bayelsa Media Network Award, Amos Okioma reiterated that proverbially the dancers cannot appreciate themselves, but it has always been the duty of spectators to appreciate the dancers.

“As watchdog of the society, we have been following your news being the most authentic, credible, proactive and your  team work, which spurred us to nominate your station as the ‘Best Radio Station’ in Bayelsa State.”

Others that were nominated include Ebizimor Jumbo popularly known as Doctor Fish as the most outstanding on air personality (OAP), Lawrence Office a.k.a. Husbandman as the ‘Best Entertainment On Radio,’ Mabel Maginimo as the ‘Best Voice On Radio’ and Akwa Douye Akpurunku as the ‘Best Reporter.’

Other members of the BMNA that were present include, James Akam, Emem Idio and Adaora Blessing Ozegbe.
