There was celebration recently in Ughelli, the headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State as a young businessman, Mr. Fidelis Apare, celebrated his birthday with family, friends and guests.

Apare, whom the guests described as generous and kind, especially with regards to his philanthropic gestures towards the poor in the community, again put smiles on the faces of many during this year’s birthday celebration.

Our correspondent reports before the reception the celebrant held for his family and friends in Ughelli, he had earlier presented cash gifts and foodstuffs to people in his place of residence. Many, especially the elderly in the neighborhood, expressed their joy by singing his praise and also prayed for him to continue to grow in his business and career.

At the reception which brought together a crowd of young people from various places, Apare thanked God for protecting him and his family and for adding another year to his age.

Hear him: “I can’t thank God enough in this occasion as He has been protecting and blessing me in all my journeys within and outside the country for different business trips, for protecting my wife and kid and all my family members. Again, God has added another glorious year to my years today.

“In the same way too, I want to thank all my family members, friends, business associates and all invited guests that joined me for this joyous celebration in my life. It’s a moment to dine and wine together in joy and happiness. I’m not celebrating my birthday to gather money into my purse, rather I always use my yearly birthday celebrations to share with my people especially the old people in the community. The gifts and the little financial support I can offer them, I have done that at home before this reception here. This is the only way I can support the government to cater for the needs of my people,” he said.

Apare however called on the Delta State government to provide jobs and skill acquisition programmes for the teeming youths to reduce the high rate of unemployment and crime in the society.

The highpoint of the birthday celebration was the cutting of the birthday cake by the celebrant, supported by his wife, kid and guests.
