By Young E. Freeborn, Warri

In a bid to put smiles on the faces of Deltans and celebrate the yuletide with joy and happiness, amidst the present economic woes Nigerians are grappling with, Nigerian philanthropist and All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, who is the managing director of the Bio-Data Safety Management Agency in Abuja, Chief Dr. Rufus Ebegba, has donated bags of rice and other gifts to various groups of people across the state.

Chief Dr. Ebegba who is an APC governorship aspirant in Delta State noted that, Christmas is a time to show love to our neighbours by sharing whatever we have with them.

Addressing beneficiaries of the kind gesture and benevolence during an event at Ughelli, Hon. Igho Umukoro, who is the coordinator of the Ebegba Political Supporters Group, said, “I’m mandated by our principal, Chief Dr. Rufus Ebegba to present to our teeming supporters and other people across Delta State these token as a little sign of appreciation for your support to him in the 2023 Delta State governorship race.

“On his behalf, I bring all of you good tidings in this yuletide season. What is here both in cash and kind is small compared to the efforts you have so far contributed in this political race. He asked me to tell all of you here that, you shouldn’t be tired in preaching this gospel of change in your communities. Our principal is very much committed to the governorship race come 2023.”

Singing the praises of the philanthropic and generous gestures of Chief Dr. Rufus Ebegba at the event, one of the beneficiaries and also a key supporter of the Ebegba Political Group from Isoko nation, Mr. Osomohwo said, “Chief Dr. Rufus Ebegba is a man after God’s heart and he’s always presentable and acceptable to Deltans at every time his name is mentioned.

“This is a man that has the pains and sufferings of others in his heart. He has come to put smile on our faces. Many people here wouldn’t have been able to buy one basket of rice, let alone a chicken to cook it as prices of foodstuff are skyrocketed on daily basis. This is because of the economic meltdown the country is passing through at the moment. But with the love and support of this man, I strongly believe many people here are already laughing because they will obviously be part of the Christmas celebration.

“This is the basic quality or virtue of a good leader. My prayer for him is to succeed to Government House come 2023 for Delta State to experience a new definition of change,” he said.
