A former deputy governor of Bayelsa State and aspirant to represent Bayelsa West senatorial district, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi, and Hon. Abel Ebifemowei, aspirant for Bayelsa Central senatorial district, have been declared winners of the party primaries.
The election which was conducted via direct primary took place at the various units and ward headquarters, with card carrying members of the party participating.
Announcing the results at the APC party secretariat in Yenagoa, the chairman of the APC Bayelsa Central and West Senatorial Primary Election, Gen. Abdulsalam Dahiru (rtd), said that three aspirants contested for Bayelsa West, with Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi polling a total of 10,450 votes to emerge winner, while for Bayelsa Central, five aspirants contested, with Hon. Abel Ebifemowei polling a total of 24, 450 votes to be declared winner.
In separate acceptance speeches, Ebebi and Ebifemowei thanked party faithful for coming out en-mass by voting them to fly the party flag in the October 31 senatorial elections.
They also expressed profound thanks to the leader of the party in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva, and other leaders for ensuring that the primaries were conducted peacefully, assuring that they will leave no stone unturned to ensure the party wins convincingly during the bye-election.
The duo urged other aspirants who contested with them to see the outcome as a brotherly contest and called on them to join hands together to work towards APC’s victory.
