Over 7000 NGOs and Support groups held a mega party to herald the swearing – in of Chief David Lyon as governor of Bayelsa State.
According to the chairman of all the APC NGOs Forum, Comrade Faith James Mikioma, the NGOs volunteered and “selflessly mobilized members to the grassroots to sensitive and campaign against vote-buying amidst threats and intimidation by outgoing governor Seriake Dickson who wanted to use money to induce voters to no avail.”
He said the APC NGOs Forum planned to organise a statewide sanitation to “clean dirt and poverty, maladministration of the outing governor on 12th of February 2020 before 14th February 2020 epochal inauguration of David Lyon and his deputy, Degi Eremenyo.”
