NDDC Staff Cooperative Lauds Akpabio

The minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, has been described as a blessing and gift to the people of Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large.

In a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State on Wednesday, President of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Staff Cooperative Society, Comrade Franklin Essien, said the minister’s recent visit to the corporate headquarters of the commission in Port Harcourt was another milestone achievement by the commission led by Dr. (Mrs.) Akwagaga Lelegima Enyin, pointing out that the visit will afford the minister and his team first-hand knowledge of the commission’s challenges and needs.

Comrade Essien, who commended the minister for the visit, also expressed hope that Akpabio would use his wealth of experience as a former state governor and senator, “coupled with his uncommon transformation formula,” to turn things around for the people of the region.

He maintained that the minister would deliver on the president’s mandate in the ministry “because he is known by every Nigerians as a bridge builder and an intelligent tactician when it comes to issues affecting the region.”

The president of the staff cooperative society further lauded the acting managing director and chief executive officer of the commission, Dr. Akwagaga Lelegima Enyin, on her pragmatic style and wisdom in piloting the affairs of the commission so far and described her as “a square peg in a square hole.”

He added that “with the evidence of things on ground especially, as outlined by the commission, it is therefore thoughtful that President Buhari next level agenda for the people of the region is truly achievable, even as I have appealed to the youths and good people of the region to give the commission and the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry the needed cooperation to help them achieve their mission and programmes for the region.”
