… Port Harcourt Practitioners visit RISAA Acting MD
The Advertising Practitioners Association Port Harcourt Chapter (APAPHC) has paid a visit to the acting managing director of Rivers State Signage and Advertisement Agency (RISAA), Chief Hon Anthony Okeah, in Port Harcourt.
Speaking during the occasion, the chairman, APAPHC, Frank Eze Aribodor, congratulated the acting managing director on his appointment and pleaded with him to ensure quacks are not allowed to practice advertising in the state. “We plead you use your good office to raise the standard of practice in the industry by ensuring that non-practitioners are not allowed to practice advertising through the help of your agencies.
“We as a body have a zero tolerance for quacks in the industry, thus we ask that any organization and individual not duly registered by APCON should not be encouraged to practice via your agency.”
Responding, the RISAA boss, Chief Hon Anthony Okeah pledged the commitment of the agency to ensure a good and standard way of doing the advertising business in the state. “The activities of illegal practitioners can never be over emphasized; it is a no no for the agency.”
Continuing he said, “In outdoor business, beautification should be the watch word.”
He outlined the agency’s plan for the future and urged practitioners to play by the rules.
Addressing the practitioners, the manager, sales and marketing, Chijioke Owhorji decried the attitude of some practitioners, who knowing the rules, flout it. He thanked practitioners for making out time to visit the agency.
Delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of the association, the Public Relations Officer, Dr Das Asaye Dappa thanked the acting managing director for the reception accorded the association.
