FAIR Hails Atiku, Amaechi, Pidomson on ADC Tickets

… Urges Merit Over Ethnicity

The Foundation for Accuracy, Integrity and Respect (FAIR) has congratulated Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi on his emergence as the vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Onyeche Wofurum Igwe, FAIR described Amaechi’s nomination as proof that “a golden fish has no hiding place,” citing his track record as former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, two-term governor of Rivers State, and two-term Minister of Transportation.

“We are confident that the Lion of the Niger Delta will leverage his wealth of experience in discharging his responsibilities,” the group stated. “You are a seasoned leader who has weathered many political storms, and we are confident you will again succeed on the national stage with your trademark insight and statesmanship.”

FAIR also used the occasion to stress national unity, declaring that “Nigeria has moved beyond ethnic parochialism” and that “there is strength in our diversity as a nation.” The group said the current national imperative is “competence, integrity, and equity,” adding that nation-building “is not easy but a herculean task that demands intellectual capacity and moral integrity.”

The foundation further extended congratulations to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on his emergence as ADC’s presidential candidate; to Sir Gabriel Pidomson on his emergence as the ADC governorship candidate in Rivers State; and to members of the Rivers State ADC State Working Committee, including State Chairman Dr. Chukwudi Dimkpa.

“May the Almighty grant you all victory in 2027. Amen,” the statement concluded.

Amaechi, a former APC chieftain, recently defected to the ADC and was named running mate to Atiku Abubakar as the party prepares for 2027.

The former Rivers State governor and ADC vice-presidential nominee, Rotimi Amaechi, has been appointed to head the party’s presidential campaign structure as preparations intensify ahead of the next general election.

The development comes amid indications that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is advancing plans for a reformed presidency focused on national unity, economic recovery, institutional reforms, and inclusive governance.
