The Administrator of Emohua local government area of Rivers State, Barr. Franklin Ajinwo has assured the people of Oduoha Ogbakiri in Ogbakiri community of improved electricity distribution to improve living conditions of residents.
The Emohua LGA Administrator who made the promise while playing host to the Oduoha Ogbakiri Wezina Council of Chiefs in his office during a courtesy visit on him, said provision of stable electricity to the community is part of measures to ensure that development trickles down to all the nooks and crannies of the LGA.
Ajinwo disclosed that adequate arrangements have been put in place to improve available power, curb incessant outages and promote steady electricity supply to boost small and medium scale businesses thrive in the Area.
He said, “The essence of power is not just to have light at night, it is for those that can use it to enhance their businesses. We shall make sure there is light so hairdressers, tailors, barbers and everyone can have access as it is one of the primary responsibilities of the government to provide power to its people” he stated.
He lauded the peaceful disposition and coexistence of the Ogbakiri people describing them as one of the most peaceful in the Local Government Area and admonished the Chiefs on the need to continuously educate their wards to sustain the peace and not relinquish leadership to children who lack requisite leadership skills to lead thereby plunging the community into crisis, as meaningful development he said, can only occur in a peaceful atmosphere.
The Council Boss charged the Chiefs to protect existing infrastructure in their domain and promised to address challenges enumerated while thanking them for their visit which he termed a rare privilege.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the community, Paramount Ruler and Nye Nwe Eli Oduoha and Ogbakiri Wezina, His Royal Highness, Eze Goodluck Mekwa Eleni Ekenta V, thanked God and the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Rear Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas (Rtd) for the appointment of their illustrious son Barr. Franklin Ajinwo describing it as well deserved following his antecedents as a seasoned, career civil servant who rose through the ranks, served and retired honourably.
He praised the Council Boss for the audience granted them while enumerating the challenges facing the community as incessant power outages, need for new transformers as the only one serving them was old as well as completion of Community Secondary School Oduoha in order to offer conducive learning environment to Staff and students of the School and even distribution of equipment to schools in the area upon commencement.
The Royal Father prayed God to grant Barr. Ajinwo wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Local Government Area to enviable heights and resounding success to enable him etch his name in diamonds in the annals of history at the end of his tenure.
Members of the Chiefs in Council who accompanied His Royal Highness were; Eze Samuel Igwenyia, Eze Revd Ikechi Nyeche, Chief Godwin Amadi, Chief Dr. Fidelis Jahka, Hon. Nwenenda Agbagbuo, Mr. Michael Orji and Hon. Princewill Enyi who serves as the Personal Assistant to his Royal Highness.
