Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Sir (Chief) Tony C. Okocha, has celebrated his 56th birthday with widows in Rumuigbo Community, in Obio/Akpor LGA, and indigent women across the 23 local government area in Rivers State.
For Sir (Chief) Tony Okocha, according to a release by his special assistant on Media, Amb. Vincent Gbosi, putting a smile on the faces of widows in his community, and the down trodden in the society, especially on his birthday “is part of what gives him joy and fulfilment in life.”
Chief Okocha noted that “What is happening today on my birthday this year is not different from what happens in previous years. For me, celebrating my birthday is all about giving.”
“Seeing and celebrating with these women, who are our mothers, and the builders of our homes and various families, and the privilege of sharing the little l have with them, out of the blessings of God, and the smiles beaming on their faces is something l cherish so much. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
“There’s no better way that l can express my gratitude to God on an occasion like this than to say thank you to God for keeping me alive to celebrate today with all of you”, Okocha said.
He further commended President Bola Tinubu, “for his transformative economic policies,” adding that”Of course Mr President knew the task at hand before taking over the rostrum.
“It is no longer news that the Eleme Refinery in Rivers State is operating at full capacity. What that means is that very soon, the hardship brought about by the energy crises will be a thing of the past. It’s just a matter of time. Let’s give our support to Mr President, and the present administration by being a little more patient.
“For Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who is the Political Champion of Rivers State, as a well meaning people, we wish to say a big thank you to him, for putting Rivers State in the spotlight with the excellent job he’s doing in the FCT.
“Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has always performed excellently well with every given opportunity to serve. We are so proud of his achievements as a member of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).”
Okocha urged all who came to celebrate his birthday with him “to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the present administration to succeed for a better Nigeria in line with the Renewed Hope mantra of the government at the centre.
“Let’s continue to pray for the success of this present government. That is my only wish for my birthday today.”
