Arising from an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting of the 20 communities and 5 political wards of Ogbia Constituency 1, a formal motion for a vote of confidence was moved by Chief Ebiango Okoba Egain, former chairman of Ogbia Local Government Area, and seconded by Chief Bright Nathan.
The meeting which was convened and presided over by Hon. Barr Edi Orubo at his home town Otuabagi, had many dignitaries in attendance.
In a unanimous voice vote of affirmation, the stakeholders reportedly “endorsed the Sylva/Maciver All Progressive Congress (APC) ticket as the choice of Ogbia Constituency one, come November 11 2023.”
Moving the motion, the former council boss stated that the APC candidates, Chief Timipre Sylva and Great Josua Maciver, as governor and deputy governor of Bayelsa State will serve Ogbia kingdom better in terms of welfare, human and infrastructural development.
While listing Chief Sylva’s imprints in Ogbia kingdom as former governor and minister of the federal Republic, he emphasised that APC has given Ogbia people every reason to stand by it, particularly with the appointment of Chief Samuel Ogbuku as managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
Our correspondent gathered that “it was resolved therfore, that the entire constituency shall not look elsewhere anymore, but mobilise themselves massively and reward Chief Timipre Sylva and Joshua Maciver with their votes in totality.”
