Oluwakemi Makun is advising young Nigerians to take a break before rushing to do their Master’s, as is the norm. She told Premium Times that she draws an example from personal experience.
She said;
“If I had gone for my masters immediately after graduating from the University, I probably would not have made any sense of it. Studying at this stage in my life makes more sense to me because I already know what I want and what I need,”
Makun just concluded an Executive MBA programme of the Business School Netherlands, Abuja, where she finished top of her class, with four distinctions.
Between her first degree and her recently bagged MBA is thirteen years of experience as a legal practitioner and businesswoman.
She insists that there’s an additional advantage for graduates to first acquire job experience before proceeding to do their Master’s. This, she believes will help them understand their strengths and weaknesses which will help them choose the courses best suited for them.
