World Tourism Day: Mayor of Housing Bags Award

Friday September 27, 2024 will remain indelible in the life of the real estate guru, My-Ace China, popularly known as Mayor of Housing as he was bestowed with Excellent Leadership Award by the Rivers State Government through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in comomaration of this year’s World Tourism Day which was held at the Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who was represented by the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Oko Jimbo, assured the people of the state of accelerated development in all spheres, including the the tourism sub sector, and urged them to continue to support the administration to positively reposition the state.

Also speaking, the permanent secretary in Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Barr.Dieokuma Ishmael, commended Governor Fubara for enthroning a culture of peace, adding that the state is blessed to have a man like him as governor, which peace necessitated this year’s theme, of tourism and peace, assuring that they will continue to roll out programs that will promote the tourism potentials of the state.

Speaking with journalists, the Mayor of Housing expressed appreciation to the Rivers State government, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, for finding him worthy of the award, assuring that he will continue to render services that will be beneficial to the state and its people.

He stressed that the development of any society should be a collective one and not for the government alone and enjoined all hands to be on deck for the development of the society.

He used the ojspportunity to commend Governor Fubara for his peaceful disposition and said such attribute is good for leadership, as he urged the governor not to be distracted but to remain focused as he continues to provide the dividend of democracy to the people.

He described the governor as youth-friendly with the several positions that had been given to young persons including the speaker of the state Assembly, assuring that the future of the state is bright.

The Mayor of Housing who announced donations to the cultural groups present at the ceremony as well as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, while promising continuous partnership with the government.
