Uwheru people, especially those at home, have joined their kins in the diaspora and other Nigerians to send birthday messages, poured encomium and also offered prayers for one of their own, Chief Simeon Ohwofa, a Lagos-based industrialist and business guru as he marked a new year.
Persons from the community, who spoke to our correspondent at Uwheru town, “as soon as the news of Chief Ohwofa’s birthday filtered into the ancestral headquarters of the great Uwheru kingdom,” in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, described Chief Ohwofa as a pillar of hope, an opinion leader and a philanthropist to the Uwheru kingdom and the entire Urhobo nation.
In a birthday message to the APC national leader, the secretary-general of the Uwheru Traditional Council of Chiefs, Chief Reuben Ekpubeni, described Ohwofa as a leader per excellence.
Hear him: “Chief Simeon Ohwofa is a worthy son of Uwheru kingdom. We are all proud of him, considering his immense contributions to the growth and development of Uwheru kingdom. He’s one man that is using his wealth to promote Uwheru people in Lagos where he resides. Not only that, he also love to promote the infrastructural status of Uwheru kingdom by influencing different developmental projects from both the government and the private sector for the betterment of our people.
“He has also initiated a scholarship scheme for both secondary and tertiary students of not only Uwheru origin, but to all Urhobo students. He’s doing all these marvelous works to raise other Uwheru people to his position and standard because he believes that, only one tree can’t make a forest. Therefore, on behalf of the Uwheru traditional council of chiefs and my beloved family, I wish our amiable Chief a happy birthday.”
Chief Simeon Ohwofa is the MD/Chairman of Nutrivitas Limited and O.M Simons (Nig.) Ltd. The two companies are based in Lagos State with very large workforce. He’s a chieftaincy holder of Uwheru kingdom and Lagos State and the founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Chief Ohwofa is an Anglican by faith and belongs to other social and religious organizations. He’s married with children and a full indigene of Ohoror community in Uwheru kingdom.
As he celebrates this year’s birthday, Uwheru people wish him more fruitful years ahead in good health and abundant blessings.
