US, Korean Delegation Visit PHCCIMA, Explore Business Partnership

The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce (PHCCIMA), as leader of the organized private sector in Rivers State, and the state government, have forged a shared interest in building confidence for investors visiting the state.

This was the position of a delegation of United States of America and Republic of Korea investment group, exploring business opportunities in the state, when they paid a visit to the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce recently.

Former commissioner for Empowerment and Employment Generation, Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa, who led the group on the visit, said “as the head of the organized private sector, I thought it was expedient for them to visit the PHCCIMA president to showcase the synergy between the public and private sector and to further get them acquainted with huge potentials in the state.”

According to him, they are looking for partnership in the areas of real estate, solar energy, agro allied, among others.

PHCCIMA President, Chief Nabil Saleh, described the visit “as strategic to stimulating business in the state.

“I am delighted with this visit by the US and Korean companies here looking for investment possibilities in the state. This visit further lends credence to the fact that the state is peaceful and conducive for investment. I want to assure you that you are in the right place; because Rivers State has enormous investment potentials and unlimited opportunities in a cross section of areas.

“Presently, in the power sector, there is a gap and I believe with the solar energy you mentioned, investors will have a fertile sector to invest in. I want to assure you we will communicate our members and from there we will begin to build bridges of partnership,” he said.

Leader of the US and Korean delegation and MD/CEO of Triple-A High-Quality Care Limited, Dr Joy Davies, expressed gratitude to the PHCCIMA president, that “we are here to source for partnership and business opportunities and we believe with what we are seeing we are in the right place.”

Companies from Georges County Maryland in the US, Pinnacle in South Korea among others were in attendance

PHCCIMA 2nd deputy president, Dr Chinyere Nwoga and the chairman of the Strategic Work Group of the ministry of Employment, Chief Engr Pedro Egbe, further assured the delegation of investment opportunities in the state, adding that their presence will add to the new employment generation model for Rivers State. Earlier, the director general of the chamber, Mr Erasmus Chukunda, had given an overview and insight to the visiting delegation.
