Unity, Security Of Rivers People, My Priority ~ Cole

All Progressives Congress’s front-line governorship hopeful in Rivers State, Tonye Cole says, if given the mandate in 2019, his first task would be to unite Rivers people and restore peace in the state.

Cole, who spoke in a recent interview with news men at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa said he chose to prioritize peace and unity given the perceived bitterness and division among the people.

“We have a lot of factions, a lot of divisions and plenty bitterness and a lot of people who are upset, all these are entrenched bitterness and division.  So we need to unite and stand as one people.

“The first order of call is to bring people together, when you can bring people together, then peace begins to reign,” he said, stressing that without peace and unity, there would be no meaningful development.

He also promised to make Rivers State a haven by providing adequate security. This, he said can only be achieved when the people believe that they can work together and understand that peace and security can bring progress.

He added that once unity and security are in place, one can begin to create jobs and an environment where the people can express their God-given talents.

As an astute businessman, Cole believes that making provision for unity and security as well as creating an enabling economic environment would bring about employment opportunities as investors would be easily attracted to the state.
