As congratulatory messages continue to pour in for the winner of the chairmanship position for Ughelli North Local Government Area in last Saturday’s council polls, Hon. Barr. Jaro Egbo, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and his vice, Chief Mrs. Meg Atano, the people of Unenurhie community in Evwreni Ward 08 have expressed faith in the incoming council helmsman.

In a congratulatory message signed by the President-General of Unenurhie community, Mr. Peter Maison, and made available to our correspondent, the community expressed confidence in Hon. Egbo and his cabinet, noting that he has the requisite experience to bring the dividends of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda to the people at the grassroots.

The message read in part: “On behalf of the entire good people of Unenurhie community, we hereby congratulate our amiable chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Hon. Bar. Jaro Egbo and his vice chairman, Chief Mrs. Meg Atano for winning the local government elections in Ughelli North LGA as chairman and vice chairman respectively.

“As a community, we have confidence in the administration of Hon. Bar. Jaro Egbo because we know he has the requisite experience to lead the people of Ughelli North LGA to the desired destination.”

In a chat with our correspondent, the Otota’Rode of Unenurhie community, High Chief Frank Imudje urged the newly elected chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Hon. Egbo, to look into their plight as a people as he prepares to mount the saddle of leadership at the council.

Hear him: “Already our President-General has sent our congratulatory message to the newly elected chairman. Our people always say, as it’s hot, just cut out your own portion. This is why I want to seek the attention of the chairman to look into our plight in both the Evwreni Ward and also in Evwreni kingdom.

“The Evwreni powers have marginalized us to that extent we now even turned to slaves in their hands. We are only meant to eat remnants from their table. We can’t continue to co-exist with them anymore.

“First, we need our own electoral ward for us to be relevant in both Delta and Nigerian politics. Secondly, we are appealing to our listening governor, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori through our amiable chairman, Hon. Bar. Egbo to give us our own separate kingdom from this present Evwreni kingdom. We are tired to be together as one.”

The Otota’Rode of Unenurhie community however said, they want to use one stone to kill two birds as a community.
