Tribunal: Head to Appeal Court, Group Tells Delta APC

By Amos Odhe

A group known as Delta State Coalition of Youth Leaders for APC, on Tuesday advised members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who lost their cases at the Election Petition Tribunals in Asaba, to file their respective appeals before the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The group, gave the advice in a statement signed by Comrade Ovibi T Superior, coordinator (Delta Central), Mr. Waibode Fuludu, secretary (Delta South), Engr. C.O Chinadu, PRO, (Delta North)

They said: “The people of Delta State and particularly, the members of the All Progressives Congress APC in Delta State would recall how we raised the alarm that APC winners will be removed by the Delta State Election Petition Tribunals in Asaba.

“Our fear and prediction was published in the Vanguard newspaper, of Friday 8th September, 2023, page 2, and titled ‘The Alleged Conspiracy to remove from Office the All Progressives Congress APC winners through Delta State election petition tribunal in Asaba, Delta State.’

“As we rightly predicted, APC members lost their cases at the tribunals in Asaba. We have been vindicated,” they said.

The group further expressed confidence in the Court of Appeal in Abuja, to correct the alleged “injustice and unfair judgement” against the APC members by the tribunals in Asaba.

“In that publication, we also made it clear that we don’t have any confidence in the tribunal to give fair judgement. For this reason, the Court of Appeal should be relocated to Abuja, and we equally advised all APC winners who lost at the tribunals in Asaba, to file their respective appeals to the Court of Appeal in Abuja, if they want to get fair judgement”
