The Director of Sports, Bayelsa State Sports Council, Mr. Andrew Aye, has on behalf of Management and Staff appreciated the state government for hosting a successful 14th Annual Thanksgiving.
In a statement, Mr. Aye who also joined Bayelsans to thank God at the Ecumenical Centre, Igbogene, Yenagoa ,said that with the level of peace and development being enjoyed in the State, there is every reason to appreciate God.
He said with the massive support being enjoyed, culminating to the achievement recorded by the state’s young athletes at the recently held National Youth Games in Asaba, amongst other events, the council gladly joins the Prosperity Government in thanking the Almighty.
The Director of Sports, cited renowned cleric and General Overseer of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Bishop Mike Okonkwo, who delivered a sermon titled: “Reasons Why We Should Thank God,” noting that thanksgiving was important as God was always present at the time of need and does not forsake His children.
Mr. Aye said that with the calibre of dignitaries at the event to include the State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, Minister of Petroleum Resources oil, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Abraham Ingobere and members, political appointees including the Commissioners for Sports, Champion Daniel Igali.
Others are Managing Director of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Chief David Lyon, Managing Director, Niger Delta Basin Authority, Chief Ebitimi Amgbare, Senator Biobarakuma Degi amongst others, shows that the state is peaceful, in unison and safe for investment to thrive.
