The chief executive officer of God is God Foundation, Dr Paul Biralo, last Saturday thrilled members of the Port Harcourt Rooters Fitness Club to talk on fitness and physical health during the maiden edition of their get-together and lecture series.
The series, sponsored by Best Way Supermarket and put together by a sports and media advocacy group, Rooters, was held at Kumoni International School, Woji, Rivers State.
Speaking on ‘The Importance of Exercise,’ Dr Paul Biralo, who is also the medical director of Bori General Hospital, explained that not every activity can be considered an exercise.
He said that for an exercise to impact positively, it must cover seventy-five minutes a week for a vigorous training and one hundred and fifty minutes a week in the case of moderate exercise, adding that the frequent you exercise the more benefit you get.
He enumerated the benefits of physical exercise to include, weight loss , increase metabolic rate , Low blood pressure, reduce chance of heart attack etc.
National Coordinator of the Rooters Group, Martins Giadom, expressed joy on the commencement of the lecture series of Rooters Fitness Club an arm of one of Rooters flagship projects, the Kids Clinic , describing it as a landmark achievement towards the successful implementation of Rooters advocacy project, and appealed for support and understanding from stakeholders to enable it add value to lives and humanity .
