The Rivers Women Unite for SIM has commended the prevailing atmosphere of peace in Rivers State, describing it as a “fresh path” for progress and unity.
In a statement signed by the group’s leader, Comrade Glory Sunday, the women hailed the peaceful conduct of party primaries across all 23 Local Government Areas and the official commencement of campaigns for the upcoming local government elections.
The group said the development marked more than a routine political exercise, calling it a testament to the power of dialogue, reconciliation, and the collective decision to prioritize harmony over discord.
“This renewed spirit of unity and cooperation among stakeholders benefits not only the political class but every man, woman, and child in Rivers State,” the statement read.
The group extended congratulations to all candidates who emerged from various political parties and praised Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, for demonstrating maturity and statesmanship in the political process.
They pledged continued prayers for peace, unity, and progress across all sectors including politics, the economy, infrastructure, education, and social development while urging all Rivers women to remain dedicated to the growth and well-being of the state.
“This is a season that demands deeper cooperation, renewed sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. Forward ever, backward never,” the statement concluded.
