Rivers Assembly Workers Issue 14-Day Ultimatum

The workers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, under the auspices of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), have issued a 14 -day ultimatum to the management of the Assembly to pay up their 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 outfit/ committee allowances and other outstanding welfare issues due them.

Chapter chairman of PASAN, Comrade Okeleke Louis, who made the decision known to newsmen after their congress, said the ultimatum is in line with Nigeria Labour laws and procedures.

He called on the governor of Rivers State, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to “in his usual manner come to the rescue of staff of the Rivers State House of Assembly.”

Asked about his new look, Louis said it is a “protest beard that will go off as soon as the allowances are paid.”
